Lauren Macias

Hello! 🌻 My name is Lauren Macias. I'm a UX Researcher & Designer who is passionate about culture and the world we live in.

By applying my years of anthropological research experience and my design thinking skills, I believe it’s important to create diverse interactions with technology that keeps the user's needs and culture at the forefront of our minds.

About Me

Welcome to my page! I’m a creative UX Designer who enjoys gaming, writing, and empowering strong women in history.

As a former Archaeology, Anthropology, and History researcher, I focused on the study of human culture and habits. When I began my UX career, not only was it a way to put to use my analytical skills, but also use the empathy that I have for our world and the people in it to create meaningful experiences through technology.

“I worked alongside Lauren on a 3-week remote design sprint. Her ability to quickly synthesize large amounts of data & research and provide actionable recommendations to our client was invaluable to the project. I valued her proactive nature, positive outlook, and attention to detail - and would recommend her as an excellent addition to any team she joins.”

“I worked with Lauren on a 3-week client project for Viragoes. The way she approaches tasks simply amazes me, as she is able to thoroughly explain her process and research. She's always willing to take initiative and help all areas of the team. She is a great team player and is open to listening to her colleagues and give thoughtful feedback. Any UX team would be lucky to have her!”

"I am forever jealous of any team that works with Lauren. She is a self-starter, detailed, communicative, and plain fun to be around. She would take on tasks and selflessly offer up her work to the group for inspiration and critique. Her attention to detail saved a feature we designed. Days before a deadline we had an idea to design an onboarding feature. Working remotely, I would "clack" away on a shared document as she would follow my mess, dotting our I's and crossing our T's. In the end, it was Lauren's attention that brought one of our ideas to life."
